The Newly Weds

Landon and Kristi met in Febuary of 2011. Within a month of dating they knew they wanted a future with each other. They were married on July 20, 2011. Upon meeting each other they wondered if fairy tales really do come true? Their story is a modern day fairy tale of two people who gave up looking for their happily ever after and though its a lot later in life for both of them, a miracle happened and the two of them met, fell in love and....and are working on the happily ever after part.

4 Months

Bumper is only 4 months and he already has had to loosen his collar, he lost a tooth and he is learning his manners by learning how to sit.

Straw

McKenna just learned on Saturday how to drink out of a straw. We bought a blue raspberry slushed and the cup was as big as her head. But we didn't want her to have much of it just a little bit so we put the straw in so she couldn't get much. Lol to our surprise she got a bunch!

We had tried to teach her how to drink out of a straw before but it never worked. Now she loves straws and feels like such a big girl!

Curious Buddies

When McKenna turned 6 months we bought her a movie called Curious Buddies. From the first time she saw the movie to now she loves it!

It is a puppet movie that introduces music to infants. It's made by Nick Jr. She gets so excited just with the introduction menu page. Lol she also has mimicked the kids a lot and has tried to make drum music and she likes to sing.

So, my mom bought McKenna some maracas and she loves them! We decided we should get her in a class interacting with other kids also learning about music. So she starts this Wed.

DI deals

I bought three pairs of shoes at DI. One pair had never been worn and the other two hardly at all. I got all three pairs for a total of $10. They are all top brands and look awesome!!!

Almost Done

Landon and Larry have been working on a dog house for Max and Bumper and its just about done. It's carpeted and painted but still needs the stairs hooked on so Max can have his own space up on the loft. I also want to put gutter flower pots on the roof. Max is pretty prissy and I think he will like that. Lol
Landon wrote on our fence the dogs names thinking it would be fun and wrote Bumber instead of Bumper. Lol it was hilarious! I had to take a pic!

McKenna finished her first set of swim classes!

We are so proud of McKenna! McKenna has learned how to do the front kick, back kick, go under water, jump into the pool and how to splash!!!

McKenna did so well that she was allowed to ride on a boat (made out of water noodles) after class. She loved it!

Now we just need to make sure that we keep practicing what she has learned. I'm still debating on if we should take another swim class this summer or wait a bit. She starts both reading club and her new music class this week so that's two new classes this coming week plus going to pool and practicing.

Also McKenna has been invited to join The Little Gym. I think she needs it but if she does join then we won't do another swim class until maybe June. We'll see.

Road Trip to Idaho

We went to Idaho this last weekend for my cousins homecoming. He served his mission in Mexico. He gave a great talk! I'm so grateful for missions!

We headed up to Idaho on Saturday morning but got sidetracked at Smith and Edwards. We were there for hours! We found some fun stuff to buy!

Once we finally got up to Idaho we took my parents and grandparents out to dinner. That was really fun for them to see what a big girl McKenna is at places like that. She was a good water and everyone had fun helping her try things.

On Sunday we went to the homecoming and then headed out to Rexburg to see how much it has grown. It's very different from when I went school there and yet parts of it are exactly the same. Lol after Rexburg we went to my Uncles house for a family gathering which means food in my family. Lol I have a big Orchard family and so it was nice to visit with them and get caught up and let them see McKenna. McKenna lived seeing so many kids! I hope we can go back up there again soon!

Wednesday Fun

I had to work on Wednesday and Landon worked from home that day. When I got back from work we worked on his homework and then he left to class. Well McKenna was being super fussy so I thought about not going to the two parties we had planned on attending. I finally just decided to go and if she was too unhappy we would leave.

Well we went to the pizza place and McKenna was so excited!!! She new all her neighbors and started giving everyone hugs and kisses. She thought the party was for her because she new so many of the people. It was hilarious! She was such a ham!

Afterwards we met Nana in the parking lot and she rode over with us to Hollys house to celebrate Brinas Birthday! McKenna even though she was tired and parties out... She was so excited to see her cousins. She loves Brina!!!!

It turned out to be a really fun night and McKenna went right to sleep once we got home. She was so happy though. What a people person!

JD and Niki

We have friends who live up in Woods Cross and they have been amazing friends! They are always super supportive no matter what and are never MIA.

Finally we were able to go up to their house and spend some time with them. McKenna loves both of them but she thinks she and Niki are besties! McKenna had a great time.

McKenna got to meet Sadie, their dog, and McKenna was in Heaven. Sadie is so good with McKenna!!!

We had a lot of fun playing games and making plans for camping and hiking this summer. We also had the yummiest food!!! Everything we ate was my favorite! I brought a strawberry poppyseed salad and raspberry lemonade and they made asparagus, hollandaise sauce, crab, T-bone steaks and homemade chalulu French Fries! It was soooo good. We also had strawberry shortcake for dessert which is another fav of mine. I felt like it was my birthday!!! Plus while we were playing games they asked if we wanted some candy. I informed them I'm not much of a candy person except for a few favorites that are hard to pass up and sure enough that's the candy they had!!! Unreal!

It was so fun spending time with them! We can't wait until we can do it again!

What Women Want Expo

McKenna and I joined Darlene, Shalyn and baby Jaren at the Women's Expo. It was a lot of fun. They had a bunch of great things there.

It's hard not to spend too much money at a place like that. There were a bunch of boutiques and online businesses that were there. I was able to get some fun jewelry!

McKenna of course had fun as women fussed over her. Lol some day she is going to realize she is not the only pretty girl in the world. Lol in the meantime, she enjoys making new friends everywhere we go.

Swim Update

McKenna is doing great at swim class. She is kicking much more and splashing. She really likes the front float kick. She does awesome on the back float kick but she isn't as relaxed with it. She has made lots of friends in her class! McKenna is the youngest in the class and has made the most improvement. She out swims the one year olds. Her only difficulty is getting dunked. Lol

Yummy fruit

McKenna loves fruit! She is really good at eating raw oranges, pineapple and bananas!

Sunday Fun in the Sun

On Sunday my parents and brother and nephew came over for lunch and General Conference. My parents don't have live TV so they came to watch Conference on our big screen. Conference this weekend has been everything we have been in need of. What an incredible spiritual uplift!

After Conference we played outside with the dogs. Ryan and TJ brought Sophie over. She got to meet Bumper for the first time.

We also played bachi ball and catch outside. It was a beautiful day! I love being with family!

We had yummy food too! We had chicken pitas, broccoli salad, Italian Pasta salad, chips, fresh pineapple, fresh cantaloupe and strawberry pie for dessert. Yum, yum! What a great day!

Corner Canyon

We went on a hike up Corner Canyon which is located up behind the Draper Temple. We put McKenna in her hiking pack on Landon's back and had the dogs run along side us.

This was Bumpers first hike and he did great! He stayed by our side and loved every minute of the hike. Max on the other hand got lost once and ran off another time. Oh dear!

We saw quite a few deer and even a bunch of Elk. It was beautiful up there. We made a loop on the trail instead of going up to ghost falls but maybe we will go to the waterfall next time.

McKenna had been a bit fussy right before the hike but once she got in the pack she was singing and talking! She loves, loves, loves hiking!

Mom & Tot Class

McKenna had her first day of swim class on Thursday. She loved it until I dunked her and then she was pretty serious and concentrated after that. Lol towards the end she got more excited again.

She did very well and is quite a little fish with her legs! Her class lasts all month so we will see how it goes.

Every time I count to three she looks worried as if I am going to dunk her again even when we aren't near water. Poor girl. I hope I haven't traumatized her!

The pic is of McKenna in her swimsuit before her class.

Preparing for General Conference

This spring I have felt like Conference couldn't come soon enough! I'm ready for a spiritual boost.

Since the start of 2013 I have made a lot of improvements in my life. There are also things I strive daily to improve and am just not quite getting it down.

This past Wednesday when I went to the temple I had an overwhelming feeling that God is aware of me and my little struggles and that he has great things in store. I think Conference is one of those great things he will be blessing us with.

Murder Mystery Dinner

Our ward had a Murder Mystery Dinner for Relief Society. I'm on the Relief Society Activity Committee. It was a fun night. We had to try to figure out who killed the spirit of visiting teaching.

I made a murder mystery cake for it. Landon and I had fun coming up with ideas for it. We used smashed strawberries for the brain guts, velvet cake for the inside of the people and strawberry frosting for the skin and chocolate frosting for the hair.

Easter In West Mt

I took a Broccoli Salad to my parents house as well. We gave my parents the movie Fireproof for Easter and then the rest of the family got McKennas Easter Card.

At my parents house we ate dinner, and then had an Easter Egg Hunt. This was Mckennas first Easter Egg Hunt and she was lucky to have the help of her cousin Samantha. After the Easter Egg Hunt we skyped with my brother and his family who are out at Duke and then we played Skum.

It was a great Easter all around! Yummy food, family and fun!

TJ Stoked to find the most eggs once we said "go"

Landon knows where to find them!

The Easter Bunny Helper himself...Ryan helped the Easter Bunny hide all of the Eggs

Jason and Suzy

A Pro

Holding on to Sammy

McKenna loved seeing what she had in her basket!

McKenna is now a trained Easter Egg Hunter! Look at all the eggs she and Samantha found together! McKenna had so much fun!
