The Newly Weds

Landon and Kristi met in Febuary of 2011. Within a month of dating they knew they wanted a future with each other. They were married on July 20, 2011. Upon meeting each other they wondered if fairy tales really do come true? Their story is a modern day fairy tale of two people who gave up looking for their happily ever after and though its a lot later in life for both of them, a miracle happened and the two of them met, fell in love and....and are working on the happily ever after part.

McKenna is getting so BIG

McKenna had more fun than she has ever had when we went to the pool yesterday. She crawled around in the shallow end and played and crawled in the tunnel and swam and went under the water and made new friends! I was so shocked by the difference from just two weeks ago.

She also crawls really fast, gets into everything and pulls herself up with furniture and then walks around the room holding on to all the furniture. Lol

Strawberry Days Rodeo

I love Strawberry Days, probably bc they have the best strawberries and cream ever! I are two of them! McKenna liked them too.

This was everyone's first time going to the rodeo except for me. We had so much fun! Nana and pop pop came over to our house and we all car pooled down to PG together.

McKenna loved the rodeo, the nachos, the strawberries and the fireworks. McKenna cheered every time she saw the animals! We were worried that McKenna would be afraid of the fireworks but instead she LOVED them! It was so fun!

Fun with Grandma

Mom came up to hang out with McKenna and I on Wed. We went to the park and went and got McKennas First Birthday Pictures taken. It was a great day!

Missionary Broadcast Training

Loved the Broadcast on Sunday! It was so refreshing and really made me contemplate how I am living my life. I hope I can be a better missionary to those around me but just as importantly I hope that I am teaching McKenna all that I should be! So grateful to have the gospel in my life!

Camping

So we went camping for the first time with McKenna... It went pretty well! We loaded the pilot to the top and got McKenna, the two of us and the two dogs in the pilot and headed up to East Canyon Lake.

The first day was fun. We played games and hiked and fished and McKenna slept for a long time. However she woke up at one pretty upset so Landon drove around our campsite and she calmed right down and went back to sleep. When I woke up it was quiet. My whole family: Landon, McKenna and both dogs were sleeping in the pilot. Lol

The next day Landon made a fire for us and then he went fishing. While he was gone Nana and Pop Pop came. So we made breakfast and then played games while McKenna took a nap and then went fishing. Landon caught a 3lb fish. We played more games, played in the sand and the water and ate yummy food.

All in all it was such a fun weekend!

The Heat

So we were going to go camping on Thursday night but the Finals sent to game 7 so we stayed home and watched the game with both sets of our parents.

I made banana bread and a strawberry lemonade/mt. Dew cake. Yum!  We also played ladder ball during half time and the guys put in for the antlerless hunt.

McKenna might have a little of Mommy in her

Fathers Day Creations

I had so much fun creating Landon's weekend and also making the gifts for our ward, neighbors and family.

Landon was in charge of the Fathers Day gift for our ward so we did Almond Joys with a saying on it. They were really easy to put together.

For our neighbors we bought Dads pop and said Happy Dad Day. Easy and cute for the guys that live in our circle.

I think the grandpas liked what we made them also. I love being able to make something simple that turns out so cute!

A "SUPER" Fathers Day

We decided to do a "Super" Dad themed Fathers Day for Landon. Because it was his first Fathers Day we went all out. Lol okay, okay OVERBOARD but it was fun!

We started celebrating on Friday night. We had taco salads and Landon came home to all of these decorations and gifts.

I didn't have the right tools to make the cake the way I wanted to but it was good enough.

We ate cake and played the ladder throw game he got and then went up to bed and watched the comic superman on blueray.

In the morning Landon got breakfast in bed: lucky charms. Plus a hiking outfit so we got up and got the dogs and we all went for a hike.

This is his new hiking outfit. Once we got home from hiking Landon mowed the lawn so we could set up his new badminton and volleyball set.

These are what he got for our night activity. He loves Luckys and never buys clothes for himself.

Next we all got dressed up in our new Superman clothes and we dropped McKenna off at Nanas and went and saw Man of Steel 3D. It was amazing!!!! We not only dressed up but we also got a big thing of popcorn and slurpees! So fun!

After the movie we went and got McKenna and got Landon's favorite food: training table! It was so yummy!!!

Then we all came home and played the ladder throw in our yard.

Landon ended up opening other presents the rest of the day and also into Sunday. We made him some crafts, we got him a back rest for work, he got two jazz shirts, a baseball pack that had: a baseball tee, two plastic bats and balls, a pack of wiffle balls, big chew bubble gum, sunflower seeds, and bases. I also got him a sentimental gift, and he got extra birdies, crochet, and horseshoes.

On Sunday after church we went to pop pop and Nanas. We ate beef brisket, beans and potato salad and I made cole slaw. For dessert we had mud pie! Amazing! We then watched the US Open.

After the Becknells we went down to west mt. Suzy and the kids came and Ryan came. It was a lot of fun! We even skyped TR. We ate BBQ chicken and pork chops with tons of yummy sides! I made a strawberry poppyseed salad.
We had three different kinds of desserts and played bacci.

Landon got a BBQ set from his parents and snake hoses from my parents and a ck shirt from Suzy.

We made my dad and Larry Grandpa Stashes full of sugar free candy. We also got Larry a shirt and shorts for golfing and a get well gift ( he just had surgery) so we have him pop and popcorn with a cute saying and an Elvis movie.
For my dad we bought him a nice bacci set and a really nice dress shirt and a bunch of A&W with a cute saying.

I think it was a successful Fathers Day!

Eating Time

McKenna has three teeth and one more just now breaking in. She is becoming a pro eater except for when she looses her food on her head! Silly Girl.

Visiting Teaching

As I was home Thursday trying to figure out what to make for dinner while McKenna and I were both sick, a knock came at the door.

When I opened the door I saw my next door neighbor Tami standing with a pizza ready to bake in her hands. She went on to tell me that this whole time she has been my visiting teacher and she has felt bad for never coming. She said that she had seen my parents earlier that day and they had told her I was sick. So, she said she decided to bring us pizza. It was heaven sent!

Counseling Conference

I usually love going to my counseling conferences but its getting harder now because I hate to be away from McKenna!

This year it was up in Heber and I didn't even stop at Granny's on my way out. I just hurried home to be with her.

I did however enjoy the Conference! It was my first one in years, I think, that I didn't present at so that was relaxing.

Thural Bailey (I'm sure I just butchered his name. Lol) was our guest speaker and although I have read his book, hearing him in person was very enjoyable! I felt inspired to go out and live my passion!

Unfortunately while I was at the conference I started getting a bad migraine and by the time I made it all the way back home I was sick!

My cold was so bad that I could go to the second day of the conference. My parents had to come up again the second day and watch McKenna as I gagged and sneezed and coughed

Fixing it Up

I haven't even been on Pinterest a year yet and here I am pinning and getting things done. Oh dear, I'm hooked!

I've been. Working on a lot of projects. I fixed up a bunch of patio chairs and painted them. I still have one more patio set to go and then I need to recover all of the cushions.

I recovered a table and painted it. I redid our front yards decorations and it looks a lot better with the arches and new flowers and the little buggy.

Keeping busy, but I like this kind of busy work. I may not be very crafty but I enjoy creating new things.

Pet Shop

Landon and I have been wanting to take McKenna to the Zoo but have wondered how she would do. So, while we were out running errands we drove by a Pet Store. We decided to go in and show her.

Best idea ever! It was free and fun and McKenna did a great job! Now we are excited to go to something bigger like the Zoo.

Ward Endowments

So Landon went into work early on Friday so that we could go to our Ward Endowment Session at the Temple.

It was amazing to be in a session together. We hadn't done a session together since our Birthdays last year. It was beautiful!

It was nice to also have a special session just for our ward. Unfortunately not very many people showed up but for those of us who did the spirit was so strong!

Zonked

These pics were taken after we got home from church which is a minute drive tops! Poor girl! Church wipes her out!

New Friends

McKenna is one of those babies that really catches your eye. She makes friends wherever she goes. Unfortunately, most are older. She needs friends near her age that she can play with. For tv at purpose I have made sure that McKenna and I do an activity a day where she is around other kids her age.

On Wednesdays we go to Cuddle Time at Draper Library and they do music and movement stuff for free. It's awesome! This last week McKenna met a new friend named Tallen. We invited Tallen to come to the pool with us the next day. We had already talked with Aubrey about coming and hoped other friends we had made previously would be there as well. Well, they were! Everyone was at the pool on Thursday! McKenna had such a blast seeing everyone! She got to see her friends: Aubrey, Tallen, Jenna and Ashley. It was a lot of fun! I love to see McKenna interacting with other kids.

Jazz Girl

Brooks bought McKenna her first Jazz shirt and she looks awesome in it! We decided to put it on in celebration of Karl Malone offering to help the Jazz out this next year!
