The Newly Weds

Landon and Kristi met in Febuary of 2011. Within a month of dating they knew they wanted a future with each other. They were married on July 20, 2011. Upon meeting each other they wondered if fairy tales really do come true? Their story is a modern day fairy tale of two people who gave up looking for their happily ever after and though its a lot later in life for both of them, a miracle happened and the two of them met, fell in love and....and are working on the happily ever after part.

It's Official

So it's official. I am now the new Stake Mission Prep Leader/instructor. I am so excited! I have missed working at the MTC and can't wait to work with Soon-to-be Missionaries!

As far as I know I will not be released from the Relief Society Presidency. So I will be doing both. It will be a busy time with both callings, being a mommy, my exercise challenge, working part time and being a wife to a very busy husband.

Landon also is having some changes coming to his schedule. I'll blog about that after this next Sunday.

We are grateful that Heavenly Father knows he an put us to work for him. Being parents has really given us a desire to receive blessings for our little one!  We are grateful for this opportunity!

Utah vs. BYU

We had the big game this last week. We went all out. We had a cougar den and a red zone. Our house has two living rooms divided by a kitchen and dining room so the front room was the cougar den and the kitchen was a house dived room and then the family room was the red zone. It was great! All ute fans wore red and all cougar fans wore blue. McKenna wore both. She also had a BYU and Utah Tattoo.

We grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and bratwursts and had chips and a house divided spinach salad for dinner. Then once the game started we had. Chips and dip, baggets and dips, jalepeno poppers, sticky buns, veggies, BYU and Utah cupcakes and a Stadium Cake. We had more food we were going to make but that was plenty.

It was a blast! We had 26 people come over and even the kids had a great time! They were all dressed up too. What a fun time. I love football season! I wish I would have taken pics!

Neighbors

We love meeting the people in our neighborhood, ward and stake. It had been so wonderful. Lately we have been so blessed by people in our ward and neighborhood letting us have their rotten fruit to give to our pigs. It's been awesome to have support!

Regional Conference

Regional conference was fantastic! It was all about making a paradigm shift and living a Christ centered life. It had such a strong focus of missionary work!

Visiting Teaching

I have the best visiting teaching companion and we visit the sweetest sisters! I have had such a great time meeting new people in our ward! My testimony continues to grow and grow.

Sick

This is what happens when Mom gets sick and Daddy is watching McKenna. The tattoo says "Peace Rocks"

Our Friends Are Here!

My roommate from freshman year moved to Utah from Oregon! I love having her family here. We all went out to eat and have been hanging out ever since! I love reconnecting and making new memories!

8 week fitness challenge

The ladies in my neighborhood do an 8 week fitness challenge. It's $20 and the top 3 get a part of the money pot. Well I was invited to participate. I was hesitant at first because I am so busy but I decided that its a great way to get to know people and most importantly I need to do this for my own health. I really need to loose weight so I'm gonna really work at this. I don't think I will win but I do think I will loose weight and I think that is essential before I get pregnant again. So, I'm gonna try it.

I went to one of the challenges on Thursday morning at 6am. It left me super sore. I can't believe that I'm sore. I'm way more out of shape than I thought I was.

Wish me luck!

Nana's Birthday

We went over for Nana's Birthday and had hamburgers and homemade fries and stuffed zucchini. I made the stuffed zucchini and the Birthday cake. I made a Boston Cream Cake. It turned out yummy. We ate, opened presents and then played games. It was such a fun night!

TJ Rocks

Wednesday night McKenna and I went down to TJs football game. McKenna loved cheering for her cousin! He did awesome! He made the first touchdown by creating a fumble and running it back for the points! How amazing!

Tuesday

Tuesday was intense because I had a lot going on that day as well as our Relief Society Activity that night. Our Activity was making the most of general conference and we made Conference journals. It was a lot of fun and we had an awesome turn out! Success!

Labor Day

Monday was Labor Day which means Onion Days in Payson. So, me,Landon, McKenna, Larry and Darlene headed down to Payson and met up with my family. We watched the parade and and walked around the booths/carnival and then headed over to One Man Band for Lunch. Once we ate we then went out to my parents and the guys all went horse riding.
Once they got back we had Raspberry Milkshakes and then headed back home. We dropped of Larry and Darlene and picked up some food I had made previously and headed to a BBQ in Sugarhouse. It was fun to see friends and get caught up.

Just Walking

In one of Landon's church meetings it was suggested that everyone start walking around the neighborhood to make friends, become more neighborly and look for missionary opportunities. Landon felt strongly that we should do this and he was right.
So, I have a Relief Society Activity on Tuesday and because we really want to reach out to non members and less actives I felt that we should invite everyone with fliers on their doors. Lol so we started walking around and didn't make it very far each night. Every night we met new people and talked with them for a while. It has been so fun!

A Wonderful Sunday

So since I was called to the Relief Society Presidency in June I had not yet taught the lesson. Well all of that changed last Sunday. Lol

I spoke on how we are temples of God and as such we need to respect ourselves. Hopefully it went well. :)

It was a very busy Sunday. I loaded up our trunk with stuff for my lesson and we headed to church. Landon is the Sunday School President and so he had to take care of his duties during Sunday School. Once things were taken care of he came into class to relieve me. I think left McKenna with him and got everything set up for my lesson. I taught my lesson and then cleaned up and I headed home with McKenna and Landon went to ward council. Then Darlene came over at 2pm and watched McKenna while I went over to the church to meet Landon after his meetings to then go and meet with the Stake Presidency together.

Landon was given a new calling and I was given a second calling in the Stake. Once we are set apart for these callings I will let you know what they are. It's gonna get even more busy! Lol I didn't know it could. Lol

After our meeting with the Stake Presidency we picked up Larry and Darlene and headed down to Payson for dinner with my parents and then the Band Concert in the Park.

What a wonderful day!

1st BYU Game

Unfortunately BYU lost to Virginia. I think it's my fault because we didn't have enough BYU decorations up! Lol

We had a great time though. We had both our parents over and we picked grapes, the guys mapped out their plan for the hunt this fall and we ate yummy breakfast foods. I made stuffed French toast and a crockpot egg casserole. So much fun!

1st Utah Game

First Utah game of the year. We all put on our red Utah shirts. I flew our Utah Flag on our car and we headed over to the Becknells for pizza and the game! What an incredible game!
Utah beat Utah State. Utah State was favored to win!
I also made this wreath in time for the game. I'm now decorated in my house divided theme. Lol

New Friends

We have made some new friends. They moved into our neighborhood around the same time as us. Their names are Will, Mandy and Rayne. Rayne is 2. She and McKenna have a lot of fun together!

On Tuesday night we had their family over for my first Gluten Free Meal I have ever made. Lol it turned out great.

The missionaries are teaching them about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It was an honor to have this wonderful family and the missionaries in our home.

FHE

We had such a fun FHE with our neighbors. The VanDusens went out of town and so we kept an eye on their kids. On Monday Jordan and Gratson came over for homemade pita pizzas and an FHE lesson. It was so great!

Afterwards we went over and said good-bye to Alex Dickerson. He was getting set apart that night and then leaving bright and early the next morning.

What a great night!

Busy, Busy

We have been so busy lately that we have had NO down time between work, school, family, friends and callings. We have kept very busy.

Hiking up Mueller Canyon

7 Adults, 1 baby and 5 dogs! What a fun day long hike!

McKennas 1st Date

Since Dave didn't have a date, McKenna became his date. :)
We met up with Dave, Sharon and Anthony Friday Night. We went to Applebee's, a rock concert in the park and then went and got the most amazing snow cones!

Bluegrass in the park

Stake Days

We had a stake service day where all the wards found homes that needed service. Then that night we all met together for a BBQ
