The Newly Weds

Landon and Kristi met in Febuary of 2011. Within a month of dating they knew they wanted a future with each other. They were married on July 20, 2011. Upon meeting each other they wondered if fairy tales really do come true? Their story is a modern day fairy tale of two people who gave up looking for their happily ever after and though its a lot later in life for both of them, a miracle happened and the two of them met, fell in love and....and are working on the happily ever after part.

Girls Day Out

So Alex got a new gun for Christmas so he and Jason and dad went out on west mountain and shot guns while the girls got together. Suzy is down in Arizona so it was just me, Mckenna, mom and Samantha. It was a lot of fun!

It has been nine months since I have been able to do any pampering of any sort. So this was way needed and over due! I got my hair cut and got some swoopy bangs, then we went and Samantha and I got pedicures and Mom got a manicure. It was so great! Samantha and I both got sparkly toes done.

I have gone to the same pedi place for about five years now so they were really excited to see Mckenna for their first time! Mckenna liked them but not as much as she loved Sammy!!! Sammy would get Mckenna giggling like crazy! It was such a blast!

Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma's

In the early evening we headed down to my parents house. My brother Brooks and his wife Brea came also and we were able to celebrate a small Christmas with them and then the boys came over and we all played NFL Monopoly again....and of course Landon won again! It was a great time! McKenna loved all the perfect gift that she got from grandpa and grandma. She also loved the outfits that she got from Uncle Brooks and Aunt Brea!
We got them an HD radio. They don't have television so this is the next best thing

 Love the expression!

Grandma and McKenna. Look how focused McKenna is!

Christmas at Nana and Pop Pops

McKenna loved Christmas at Nana and Pop Pops. We thought that she may be too tired from the morning and all the presents that she opened from us but she wasn't. She loved her christmas presents! She got to sit on Nana's lap and open them. She would get really excited with the wrapping paper and open the gift, then she would put the toy in the mouth and then we would show her another gift and she would drop the first gift and go crazy over the next one. It was hillarious!

After presents, we got ready for our big family lunch. The cousins came over and we had a lot of fun! We had an incredible meal! It was the best turkey I have ever had! We all drew names this year with the cousins and we drew Brina and Kirsti's name. Holly and Derek drew our name. They got us The Forgotten Carols and a Baby Activity Book. It was so fun to have all three of the new babies together! I cuddled Gunner as much as I could! I love that Holly and Dereks baby is so sweet! I also got to hold Jeran after I sanitized. He is at the mimicking phase. It was fun to make faces with him! Landon took Jeran and toted him all around the house. What a proud Uncle! He said that he is going to teach him how to be a man by teaching him all the sports and guy things. lol Landon needs a little boy of his own. lol. He took Jeran over to the mirror and took him around introducing him to different people and different things. Landon use to not understand my insane love for my nieces and nephews. lol Now he does! lol

Pop Pop and Little Miss Christmas!

McKenna and Max. Max gets to move in with us in a month.

I love to see how McKenna concentrates so hard on everything she is being shown!

McKenna loved all of her new toys!

...And in the mouth it goes, like everything else :)

Shse loves her camera she got! She loves all the flashy lights!

Yup, this one tastes good too!

Change of Plans

Our plans were to go to my parents house for Christmas morning and then spend the rest of the day at Landons parents house. We had to change our plans around however because Landons Sister was coming over at a certian time and he wanted some time with his sister before all of his cousins got there. His sister could only be there at a specific time during the day because thats when her baby does the best. Plus it was going to be our first time seeing her baby Jeran in a long time and the last time we didn't get to hold him. So, we really wanted to see him. They haven't been taking him out around people, not even to families houses. So, it was kind of a big deal for Landon. So, we ended up going to the Becknells in the morning and then my parents house in the early evening.

It actually ended up working out great because my brother Brooks came down in the early evening too. Plus my Dad had to work all night so that gave he and my mom some time together. Things always end up working out.

McKenna's 1st Christmas

This time last year I was pregnant for McKenna and really sick. My brother was here last year from Duke and I wanted to spend as much time as I could with he and his family but I was super sick and its a bit of a blur. How nice it was this Christmas to be able to be alert and feel well. lol The simple blessings that make a Christmas great for a Mom, eh?

I wanted to start some new traditions with my own little family but that didn't quite work out...there is always next year and McKenna won't really remember this christmas anyway, but at least I tried. I got up early Christmas morning and wrapped a few more gifts, loaded up all the gifts to take to our families houses and even took a shower and got ready for the day and then waited, and waited and waited for my two sleepy heads to wake up! Finally McKenna stirred a little bit so I got her up and woke Landon up and drug them into the front room to open stockings and Christmas presents. By this time it was 10am. lol

We didn't think that McKenna would really appreciate Christmas and the presents this year we thought that we could just hold out till next year so we only bought her a few things. Well, turns out that she LOVES opening presents and she is actually really good at it aside from her always trying to put everything in her mouth!

I got Landon a Jazz beenie and shorts, a new lovesac cover and a bunch of DVD's that he wanted like the new Sherlock Holmes etc. on Bluray. He got me Roller Blades and memory foam mats and two seasons of Bones. McKenna got Daddy a book. Its called "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home." It was so cute to see her hand it to him and he really enjoyed it!

Here are pictures of her Christmas Morning with just the three of us at our Condo:
Her First Stocking

She got tiny nursery rhyme books for her to take to church

She wouldn't let me open them...she had to help!

We read one to her and she did well paying attention and listening but as soon as it was over she had to taste it too!

By that smile, we decided that it was a winner!

She got a bumbo tray, she didn't know what it was but she enjoyed opening it and enjoyed hitting her hands against it to make it make noise.

We had an awesome Christmas! See me sick rollerblades in the background?
