The Newly Weds

Landon and Kristi met in Febuary of 2011. Within a month of dating they knew they wanted a future with each other. They were married on July 20, 2011. Upon meeting each other they wondered if fairy tales really do come true? Their story is a modern day fairy tale of two people who gave up looking for their happily ever after and though its a lot later in life for both of them, a miracle happened and the two of them met, fell in love and....and are working on the happily ever after part.

I AM A MOTHER

I am currently reading a book titled: I am a Mother, by Jane Clayson Johnson. This book has really spoken to my heart and has given me such strength and encouragement. The book is a positive perspective of a successful professional who became a mother and feels that becoming a mother is the biggest success in her life thus far. I would suggest this book to anyone, especially anyone who is in the workforce and thinking about becoming a mother.
I love my profession and chose my current profession so that I could both work and raise a family. Beofre I got married I felt like I was on top of the world with my professions. I loved, loved, loved my job! I was a fulltime School Counselor and a Girls Basketball Coach. I was very involved in my profession and was the Utah School Counseling Association Vice President for Middle School. I love being involved and still do. However after Landon and I got married I miscarried and the stress of everything became too much at my profession. So, I quit and was then hired at the Utah State Office of Education as a School Counselor over Utahfutures Specialist/Trainings. I started working part time as I was pregnant with McKenna. Now that I have a baby I feel a lot of pressure to work more and in fact when I was pregnant so many people made comments to me about jumping the gun or throwing my career away. Now that I have McKenna, I have more of a desire to be home with her. I love being a mom! Why does our world think so negatively about women who are stay at home Moms? My dream is to be able to stay at home with my kids but for right now I have to work.

  1. Krisit! Melanie asked if I'd seen McKenna and I hadn't so she sent me your blogsite. And of course, she is so precious. I read your posts and I can hear your joy and the adjustments. Say hello to Landon and your mom and of course give a kiss to McKenna. I hope you get some time to post a more current photo!

    Love Pat
